Four Detained After Basketball Court Shooting in Monroe Township

Monroe Township, Mich. — Monroe County deputies detained four people Thursday evening after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots at the Greenwycke Crossings Apartments basketball court. The calls came in around 8:16 p.m.

No injuries have been reported. Officers tracked a vehicle believed linked to the incident to South Dixie Highway and East Dunbar Road and took everyone inside into custody without incident. Full names, birthdates and addresses of all Memorial HS track athletes

Parents’ names and contact details

Parents may file a protective motion by July 29 to block disclosure; absent action, the district will comply. The records relate to the upcoming murder trial of student Karmelo Anthony, indicted in June for the April 2 killing of 15-year-old Austin Metcalf.
